Working Around Amex Server Issues via VPN
In April 2026, Amex started having server issues, most frequently affecting users who add offers to multiple different Amex logins, or multiple people in the same household adding offers in too short of a time frame relative to the other account.
There's a new configuration option added in v7.3.0 (currently in Chrome only, expanding to the other browsers in the coming days) to help mitigate the issue called "Delay Between Amex Offers", which you can increase if you're affected, via the extension's Settings tab (here's how to open that up: http://cardpointers.com/help/extension/refresh)
If you continue to have an issue, the recommendation is to space out adding offers for the second person by a few hours, or use a VPN or cell hotspot to forcefully get a different Amex server, which should also help mitigate that issue.
