BankAmeriDeals (BoA Offers)
A few things to note about BoA offers:
- Bank of America changed to an entirely new offers system on January 15th, 2026; it's accessed by clicking through to a new site hosted at deals.merchant-rewards.com. It took a few days to integrate the new system, but the 7.2.0 update of the app and extension fully supports the new system, so be sure to upgrade to the latest version of the app + extension.
- There are a lot more BoA offers than you'd first think with their new website. It looks like you only have a few card-linked offers, but thanks to CardPointers you'll see that you most likely have 100+ and the extension can activate all of them for you in just a few seconds.
- The new BoA offers load nearly instantly, but adding them is a bit slower than the other banks.
- Sometimes offers don't get added on the first try but the system says that they have; try to re-add any such offers and they usually add the second time. 🤷
- Most of these new offers expire 45 days after activation, but the expiration date shown when you tap on an offer on the new deals.merchant-rewards.com website it shows the last day you can activate the offer. This seems to be a bug on their end, and I would advise following the 45 day expiration specified in the terms to be on the safe side.
Logging In
With the new system, offers are added from the BoA website, not the deals.merchant-rewards.com site.
On mobile, BoA tries to push users to their mobile app, which doesn't support activating offers. Here's how to log in to the full website to auto-add your BoA offers (TLDR: tap this link to jump to the right spot).
- Go to https://bankofamerica.com as usual
- Tap on LOGIN at the top right
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Learn More
- Tap on the 3 horizontal lines at the top right, then in the bottom section tap Log In. This will take you to the normal login page: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/login/sign-in/signOnV2Screen.go
- Log in as normal, and the extension will work its magic
Debit Cards/Saving Accounts
With the new system, there is no longer a way to programmatically determine if a card is a credit card with deals or a debit card or savings account; if a card gets added which you don't want to add offers to, tap on the card in the CardPointers app and change its status to Closed. After the next sync, it will no longer add offers for that card or show that card in the app at all.
