User Profiles (P2 support)

One of my most-requested features was support for multiple user profiles so that users could help their P2 (husband/wife) "play the game" of maximizing credit card rewards and offers, and I'm excited to share that you can now do that with CardPointers 6 on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro (coming next to Android).

Here's how it works:

  1. Make sure you have updated to CardPointers 6 or higher.

  2. Open the app's Settings screen, then tap on In-App Filters & Profiles
  3. Tap on Add New Profile
  4. Enter your P2's name and email address and then Save New Profile to send them an invitation to link their account in yours. Every profile needs its own CardPointers account, but the other accounts do not have to be CardPointers+ members, only the account wanting access to other profiles does. Profiles which haven't accepted an invitation will display "Not yet linked" below the name.
  5. An email will be sent to the invited user to authorize linking their account in yours.

  1. The other user must accept the invitation by entering the code in the app (if they're also using CardPointers 6), or using the link in the email via the CardPointers account page:

  1. You'll then have access to all of that users' cards and offers data in the CardPointers app, and can filter every view of the app by their cards/offers, help track offer redemptions, and change anything related to their cards and offers.

If you want to assign cards to your P2, you'll find a Profile button in the Card Details screen for each card.

You can quickly change profile views by tapping on the titlebar area (you'll see an arrow next to the title of the screen as you scroll down), or via the Settings screen, and you can even view all cards and offers across all profiles by choosing All Profiles:

The other user does not have access to your cards and offers, but you can repeat the same steps above in the opposite direction if you wish.

Bonus tip: that same quick-action menu that lets you change profile views also lets you filter your cards and offers by cards with no foreign fees, and personal or business cards, which is really handy when you're traveling abroad to make sure you don't waste money on unnecessary fees.

Extension Support

And that's not all — user profiles carry over into the extension, too, so you can view any profile's cards/offers as you're shopping online to know which card to use, and can auto-add and sync offers to any profile's cards.
